If a new connection is detected in the interactive mode and if there is no rule match, you will be prompted in a dialog window to allow or deny the connection. If you wish to perform the same action every time the application attempts to establish connection, select the Remember action check box.

For applications which are not communicating at the moment, you can create rules in the personal firewall setup. There are two ways to add a new rule. You can either right-click in the list of existing rules and select New rule, or click Edit all rules and then click New.
In the General tab enter the name, direction and communication protocol for the rule. The window allows you to define the action to be taken when the rule is applied.

Insert the path to the application’s executable and the local communication port in the Local point tab. Go to the Remote point tab to enter the remote address and port (if applicable). The newly-created rule will be applied as soon as the application tries to communicate again.

To better assist you with a case, Customer Care may request the log from a scan performed while your computer is in Safe Mode. To run a scan of your computer in Safe Mode and send Customer Care the scan log, please follow the steps below:

Important! This procedure requires restarting your computer. As a result, we recommend you print the instructions on this page and save them to a Notepad document. That way, you will have a hard copy of these instructions while your computer is restarting and a soft copy from which to copy and paste command-line text as you cannot access this page while in Safe Mode.

To create a Notepad document containing these instructions, highlight this text and press CTRL + C to copy it.
